How to Prepare for Your Inflatable Rental
Get your yard ready before setup day.
A little preparation helps our crew deliver and install your bounce house or water slide safely and efficiently. Use this guide to prepare the setup area, access path, power, water and pets before we arrive.

Your pre-delivery checklist
Complete these items before our crew arrives.
Clean the yard before we arrive
The inflatable area and the entire route from our delivery vehicle to the setup location must be free of dog poop, pet waste, trash and other hazards.
Our crew moves large, heavy equipment by dolly. A clean route protects the equipment, our crew and your property.
Do I really need to remove all dog poop?
Yes. Remove all dog poop and other pet waste from both the setup area and the access path before delivery. If the area is not clean, setup may be delayed while the site is made ready.
Prepare the setup location
Grass and yard
Mow if needed and remove sticks, sharp objects, toys, furniture and low decorations. The ground should be stable and reasonably level.
Access path
We require a clear path at least 36 inches wide so our dolly can reach the setup area. We will not carry inflatables through a house.
Measure carefully
Confirm the unit fits with extra room around it. Check gates, fences, trees, roofs, power lines and other overhead obstacles.
Underground hazards
Show our crew any sprinkler lines, septic components, utility lines or buried items that could be damaged by stakes.
Approved surfaces
Stable grass is preferred. Concrete or asphalt may be approved with advance notice. Rocks and sand are not permitted setup surfaces.
Delivery vehicles
Keep gates unlocked and move cars, trailers or other objects that block the route from the delivery vehicle to the setup location.
Have power and water ready
Electrical power
Provide a working electrical source generally within 50 feet of the inflatable. Deep South Event Rentals provides the properly sized extension cord.
Water connection
For water slides, provide a working outdoor faucet. We provide 50 feet of water hose; the customer must provide any additional hose needed.

Do I need to be home for delivery?
No, provided payment has been paid in full and you understand that, if no one is home, Deep South Event Rentals will install the unit in the location we determine is safest. Make sure access is open and the site is fully prepared.
Will your crew carry an inflatable through my house?
No. We do not carry inflatables through a house. A clear outdoor access path at least 36 inches wide is required for our equipment dolly.
How close must electrical power be?
A working electrical source should generally be within 50 feet of the inflatable. We provide the properly sized extension cord.
How much water hose is provided?
We provide 50 feet of water hose for water units. If the faucet is farther away, the customer must provide the additional hose.
What happens if the weather forecast changes?
Contact us as early as possible. Cancellation and refund eligibility follow the current 24-hour notice policy. Refunds are not available after setup, drop-off or pickup.
What surface can the inflatable be installed on?
Stable grass is preferred. Concrete or asphalt may be approved when arranged in advance. We do not install on rocks or sand.
What should I do about pets?
Secure pets away from the crew, equipment and setup area. Remove all pet waste from the setup area and access route before delivery.

Check Your Space
Measure the setup area and make sure there is enough room for your inflatable and required clearance.
Clear the Access Path
Unlock gates and keep driveways, walkways, and the path to the setup area clear for our delivery crew.
Clean Up the Yard
Pick up all dog poop and pet waste, and remove toys, sticks, sharp objects, and other debris before we arrive.
Final check before the delivery window
- Setup area is clear and reasonably level
- All dog poop and pet waste is removed
- Pets are secured away from the crew
- Outdoor path is at least 36 inches wide
- No access through the house is required
- Gate is unlocked and vehicles are moved
- Power source is ready within about 50 feet
- Outdoor faucet is ready for a water unit
- Extra water hose is available if needed
- Underground and overhead hazards are identified
